Liaocheng City Urological Endoscopy Minimally Invasive Diagnostic and Treatment Technology Key Laboratory was approved in October 2019, and the current director is Prof. Shi Ruji. The laboratory currently has 20 health technicians, including 3 senior titles, 4 associate senior titles, 10 intermediate titles, and 13 postgraduate degrees. Relying on the Department of Urology of the Second People's Hospital of Liaocheng City, the laboratory mainly focuses on the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of urological and male diseases, and carries out three aspects of research around the etiological prevention and precise treatment of urinary stones, the precise treatment of urological tumors, and the precise and minimally invasive treatment of prostate diseases.

The laboratory is equipped with experimental conditions and platforms for accomplishing a variety of minimally invasive urological endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, closely combining basic research with clinical application. It has achieved certain scientific research results in urolithiasis-related metabolism, diet and drug preventive treatment, basic research on stone composition and stone dissolution and stone removal treatment, etc., to further prevent stone recurrence and recurrence; while routinely carrying out radical nephrectomy and radical cystectomy minimally invasive treatment, it has conducted collaborative exploratory research with the higher level hospitals in maximizing the preservation of renal function, preservation of the bladder, and sexual and voiding functions. In addition, with the help of intraoperative ultrasound and pathological section examination, the laboratory further studies the relationship between tumor margins and prognosis, and conducts related research on tumor gene detection, molecular pathology, and targeted therapy; meanwhile, it has also identified research directions with disciplinary advantages in the areas of early screening of prostate diseases, gene diagnosis and therapeutics, and minimally invasive endoscopic treatment.

In recent years, the laboratory has established close cooperation with higher hospitals and research institutes, and selected and dispatched personnel for further study and exchange, to carry out research and cooperation on scientific research topics, to enhance the visibility and scientific research level of the laboratory. In the past three years, the laboratory has published more than 10 articles and completed one provincial-level project and many municipal-level projects.
