There is such a group of people, from the beginning of our birth to accompany our growth. When we were born, they held us in their arms and sheltered us from the wind and rain; when we were toddling, they followed us and guarded us with all their heart and soul; after we grew up and started a family, they still stood behind us and gave us a helping hand when we needed it. They are our parents, our grandparents, our grandparents. Over the years, time has taken away their youth, their strength, and their health.
Proactive questioning to help with medical appointments
At a time when our population is aging, it is the common responsibility of society to care for and help the elderly.
It is the common responsibility of the society to care for and help the elderly. It is the common responsibility of the society to care for and help the elderly. It is also the duty of medical workers to serve and care for the elderly. As triage nurses, we are the first medical personnel to contact the elderly when they visit the clinic. As a child, we should do unto others. Whenever we see an elderly person hobbling, we can't help but step forward, warmly assist him or her, take the initiative to ask questions, and help him or her to consult the doctor.
In the information age, hospitals promote the application of "Health Liaocheng" electronic medical card. Young patients can use it easily and conveniently, but for those old people who are approaching their 80s and 90s, "smart" has become difficult. In the lobby on the first floor of the outpatient clinic, we have set up a special service desk for the elderly, and the triage staff will help the elderly without smartphones to fill in their personal information and apply for a medical card, and assist the elderly with smartphones to apply for a card to recharge, and so on. Beside the self-service machines, the triage nurses immediately take the initiative to go forward when they see patients in need, guide them by hand and explain them patiently step by step, so as to make the process of medical treatment for the elderly simpler and faster. We also placed presbyopia glasses, water cups, needle and thread boxes, toilet paper and other convenient items in the outpatient hall to prepare for the elderly in case of emergency.
Various publicity materials on common diseases of the elderly are neatly placed on the health education display racks in the waiting area on the second floor of the outpatient clinic. Every Monday, the triage nurses conduct educational programs in the waiting hall to improve and enhance the health awareness of the elderly and answer all the questions raised by the patients.
Service details in action
Whenever there is inclement weather, non-slip mats are laid in the clinic lobby and at all entrances to keep the elderly on their feet. After the floors are cleaned, we place "Beware of Slippery Floors" warning signs and gently remind the elderly to walk carefully to avoid slipping. We also provide elderly patients with "three generations and four deliveries", i.e., we do the procedures for entering and leaving the hospital on behalf of the elderly, pay the fees on behalf of the elderly, pick up medicines on behalf of the elderly, and send the elderly to the hospital for consultation, examination, treatment and hospitalization, which avoids the need for the elderly to run around many times and reduces the waiting time of the elderly patients.
These warm hearted initiatives, the service concept of caring for the elderly patients into small actions to implement into the daily work. We respect the elderly, pay attention to the love of the elderly, and do things to help the elderly. We care for the elderly in the smallest details, and our services are spread all over the world. Outpatient triage staff will be rooted in the service concept in the heart, the details of the service in action, continue to improve the aging of the medical environment, optimize the process of medical treatment for the elderly, really let the elderly experience a warm and comfortable quality service, so that love flows in every corner of the clinic.
