Procedures for Medicare patients to apply for a home hospital bed
I. What is a home hospital bed?
A home bed is a bed set up by a medical unit in the home of a patient who is suitable for examination, treatment and care at home. Some hospitalized patients can go home for convalescence after their condition is more stable, but during this period, they still need to be guided by the doctor to carry out the relevant examinations and treatments. II. Types of diseases for which home hospital beds are available:
1、Cerebral stroke patients who have lost all or part of their mobility and their condition meets the conditions for hospitalization;
2. Those who need to stay in bed for fracture traction and fixation;
Those who have difficulty in moving in the advanced stage of malignant tumors;
4. People with serious heart and lung diseases who meet the conditions for hospitalization but are more suitable for home treatment;
5. Those who are hospitalized and their condition is stable but still need to continue treatment;
6. Other patients who are eligible for hospitalization but are suitable for home treatment due to difficulties in hospitalization.
(c) The period of hospitalization and reimbursement for home hospital beds:
The treatment cycle of home hospital beds is generally within two months, and can be extended to four months if the condition requires. The medical expenses of family hospital beds are settled according to the hospitalization treatment, the starting standard is reduced by half, and the hospitalization fee is RMB 4 yuan/day, which is included in the overall reimbursement.
IV. Procedures related to family hospital beds:
The relevant professional physician or community physician will write the approval form for the family hospital bed, and the hospital medical insurance office and the medical insurance office of the labor bureau will sign the form, and then the relevant professional physician or community physician will write the admission certificate for the family hospital bed to handle the hospitalization procedures.
V. Characteristics of home hospital beds:
During the hospitalization period, the patients receive treatment at their own home, and the relevant physicians carry out regular rounds to observe and adjust the treatment plan, and at the same time set up the mechanism of telephone consultation and return visit to pay close attention to the changes in the condition and find out the problems in a timely manner.
