The Burns Department of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital was founded in 2002, with 17 medical and nursing staff, including 5 therapists and 12 nursing staff, Xiao Jizhou, the department director, and Lv Xiaofei, the head nurse. The department has 30 beds. It is equipped with advanced equipments such as electric turning beds, large infrared therapeutic instrument, automatic temperature-controlled high-efficiency radiation therapy frame, suspension beds, cardiac and electric monitors and so on.

    In 2015, our burns department was awarded as "Shandong Province Clinical Key Specialty" by Shandong Province Health and Family Planning Commission.In March 2017, our burns department initiated and set up Shandong Province Liaocheng City Medical Association Burns and Plastic Surgery Specialty Committee, and Xiao Jizhou, director of our burns department, was elected as the director.In December 2017, our burns department was awarded as the provincial clinical key specialty. Burns Department as a provincial clinical key specialties and successfully joined the Shandong Province Burn Surgery Specialty Alliance.

Scope of diagnosis and treatment:

1. Burn diagnosis and treatment: all kinds of thermal burns (scalding) caused by flames, hot liquids (boiling water, soup, oil, etc.), hot gases (vapors, high-temperature gases, etc.), hot solids (metals, etc.); inhalation injuries (respiratory burns) caused by heat and smoke; electrical burns; chemical burns; radiological burns; burn trauma; all kinds of cold (freezing) injuries.

2. Chronic wound repair: all kinds of burns, traumas, surgical incisions by dressing change treatment for more than 2-3 weeks is still difficult to heal the wound; diabetic ulcers (diabetic foot), pressure ulcers (pressure ulcers), venous stasis ulcers of the lower limbs, unstable scarred ulcers, chronic osteomyelitis ulcers, infected ulcers, radioactive ulcers, malignant ulcers, etc.; the cause of the skin ulcers, defects and sinus tracts are not known.

3. Scar treatment and functional rehabilitation: the earlier the timing of therapeutic intervention, the better the efficacy. Including deep burn wounds, especially those located in the functional parts of the joints; skin grafting, after surgery; all kinds of burns, trauma, post-surgical scarring, especially wounds, incision healing within 3 months; advanced keloid contracture deformity.

4. Dermatologic Surgery: skin (hair) avulsion injury; serious body surface septic infection; lipoma, skin cysts, scar cancer and other body surface tumors.

    The staff of the department has been striving for progress, and in recent years, it has organized 3 large-scale study classes of various types and more than 100 training courses in lower-level hospitals. The department has strong comprehensive strength, and is confident to build our burns department into a regional burns and trauma treatment center.
