Introduction to Paediatric Surgery (Huamei Campus)

 Established in August 1995 with 43 beds, the Department of Paediatric Surgery of our hospital is a rapidly developing, strong and advanced clinical department integrating science, teaching and research. It is the only comprehensive department in northwestern Lu specialising in the treatment of paediatric surgical diseases, treating multidisciplinary diseases such as paediatric congenital malformations, infections, tumours and traumas. In recent years, the department has carried out a variety of sub-specialties of paediatric surgery, such as minimally invasive surgery, paediatric general surgery, paediatric urology, paediatric orthopaedics and neonatal surgery, which have been widely praised by the society.

     Composition: At present, there are 2 chief physicians, 3 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, 3 residents; 8 people with bachelor's degree, 1 master's degree student, 1 doctoral student and 3 master's degree students. At present, he has published more than 10 papers, including "Clinical application indexes of different surgical approaches to treat supracondylar humerus fracture", "Observation on the effect of intraperitoneal injection of tretinoin, urokinase and fat milk in preventing intestinal and peritoneal adhesion after abdominal injury in rabbits", and "Mini-laparoscopic double-hole and double-wire sled needle-assisted treatment of paediatric inguinal hernia".

      Every year, she treats nearly 10,000 cases of outpatient emergencies, admits more than 1,500 cases of children, and carries out more than 1,000 cases of various surgeries. Especially in recent years, we have developed laparoscopic technology and completed more than 2,000 surgeries, including inguinal hernia, syringomyelia, cryptorchidism, appendicitis, varicocele, megacolon, Meckel's diverticulum, gallbladder stone, etc. This surgical procedure has the advantages of small trauma, clear field of operation, fine operation, less bleeding, fast postoperative recovery, good efficacy, and aesthetically pleasing appearance, which is praised by the majority of the surrounding family members of the children and cooperates with the higher level hospitals to carry out surgery one after another. In co-operation with higher hospitals, we have successively carried out laparoscopic surgical treatments for hydronephrosis, choledochal cysts and other diseases. At present, the representative surgeries that have been carried out independently include: various surgical methods for the correction of hypospadias of different types and ages; various stages of surgical treatment for hip dysplasia of different ages, hepaticojejunostomy (Kasai), transanal megacolon radical surgery (Swenson), transsacral perineoplasty for high-grade anal atresia (Peña), etc., and the therapeutic techniques and experiences are more abundant and mature. Its treatment techniques and experience are more abundant and mature. In recent years, nearly 1,000 cases of paediatric intussusception have been treated with air enema technology, which has saved the children from the pain of open abdominal surgery and achieved good social benefits.
