The Second Ward of Obstetrics of Liaocheng City Second People's Hospital has 24 medical and nursing staff, including 1 chief physician, 1 deputy chief physician, 3 attending physicians, 1 master's degree holder, 2 master's degree holders, and 40 beds, with family-style warm single rooms and ordinary 3 rooms. The department is in the forefront of Liaocheng city hospitals in terms of technical level, scientific research and teaching, talent echelon construction, introduction of new technologies, etc. It has a perfect prenatal health care system and high-risk pregnancy management system, and carries out a number of services, such as pregnancy guidance, painless delivery, guided labour, post-operative analgesia, post-partum health care, neonatal swimming and caressing, and autologous umbilical cord blood collection and storage, etc, which is well-known in the northwestern part of Shandong Province.

     Obstetrics II Ward has superior medical skills, warm nursing, humane service, comfortable ward, the safety of mother and baby is our tenet, the patient's satisfaction is our goal. Obstetrics II mainly carries out medical treatment and health care within the scope of pregnancy and perinatal period. It is good at diagnosis and treatment of obstetric complications and comorbidities such as hypertension in pregnancy, placenta praevia, placenta previa, multiple pregnancies, gestational diabetes, premature rupture of membranes, preterm delivery, obstructed labour, tumours in pregnancy, post-partum haemorrhage, placenta implantation, etc. It is good at obstetrics first aid, multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment techniques of obstetrics and difficult illnesses, and it receives referral of patients from lower hospitals, and the success rate of maternal rescue is up to 100 per cent. In recent years, the staff of the department has gone to Beijing, Shanghai, Jinan and other hospitals with domestic leading technology for further study, and has reached the domestic advanced level in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The staff of the department has published dozens of scientific research papers and treatises, and 6 Liaocheng City scientific research projects, among which ‘Diazepam combined with resorcinol and oxytocin for the clinical research of active labour’ and ‘Clinical application of Danshen drip for the treatment of low amniotic fluid in late pregnancy’ were awarded the second prize of scientific and technological progress by Taishan Medical College.
