   Neurosurgery Ward I of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital affiliated to Taishan Medical College, formed after the division in 2011, its predecessor Department of Neurosurgery was established in 1992. At present, the department has 30 beds and is the vice-chairman unit of Liaocheng City Medical Association Neurosurgery Branch. There are 7 physicians in the department, including 1 professor, chief physician, master's degree supervisor, 2 deputy chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, 2 residents; 5 of them have master's degrees; Professor Xu Zhaobing, the director of the department, is a member of the Neurosurgery Branch of Shandong Provincial Medical Association, and a vice-chairman of the Neurosurgery Branch of Liaocheng Municipal Medical Association; Dr. Xin Zhenxue, the vice-director of the department, is a member of the Youth Committee of Neurosurgery of Shandong Provincial Medical Association. Vice director of the department, Dr. Xin Zhenxue, is a member of Shandong Medical Association Neurosurgery Youth Committee. Through the efforts and struggles of several generations, the Department of Neurosurgery has strong technical force and its overall strength ranks among the advanced ones in the region; it has accumulated rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of craniocerebral trauma, intracranial tumors (cerebral gliomas, pituitary tumors, meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, etc.), intravertebral tumors, hydrocephalus, trigeminal neuralgia, facial spasms, pediatric cerebral palsy, epilepsy and so on; it has accumulated rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease (hypertension, cerebral hemorrhage, intracranial aneurysms, etc.). Especially in the surgical treatment of hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease (hypertension, cerebral hemorrhage, intracranial aneurysm, cerebral vascular malformation, etc.) and ischemic cerebrovascular disease (severe stenosis of carotid arteries, severe stenosis or occlusion of intracranial arteries, etc.), the department has attained a high level. As a stroke screening base of the Ministry of Health, we have gradually carried out surgical clamping of intracranial aneurysms, surgical resection of cerebrovascular malformations, as well as carotid endarterectomy and superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery bypass grafting in recent years. The department has published many papers in core journals such as Chinese Journal of Neurosurgery and undertaken several municipal scientific research projects. The department strives to create a good academic atmosphere and develop various subspecialties, striving for specialization and expertise.
