The ultrasound department of Liaocheng City Second People's Hospital is a vigorous and youthful department, after more than 30 years of development, especially after the completion of the new outpatient building of the hospital, the working conditions of the department have been fundamentally improved. Now there are 18 diagnosticians and 2 nursing staff in the department, including 1 chief physician, 6 deputy chief physicians, 3 attending physicians and 8 residents, including 6 master's degree holders, which is a reasonable and excellent talent echelon and lays the foundation for better development. Our department has 10 sets of colour Doppler ultrasound diagnostic instruments, with more than 400 patients per day and comprehensive business development. Over the years, the department has been in the leading position in the northwestern part of Shandong Province in terms of personnel, instruments and ultrasound diagnostic technology.

    For a long time, all colleagues in the Department of Ultrasound to rigorous and realistic, innovative style of hard work, with superb technical enthusiasm for the majority of patients. In recent years, the Department of ultrasound in the routine ultrasound examination at the same time, focusing on the peripheral vascular, small organs, foetal prenatal system examination, four-dimensional ultrasound, musculoskeletal nerve examination, gastrointestinal ultrasound, ultrasound interventional ultrasound and other ultrasound diagnostic and treatment technology, ultrasound department with the world's most advanced ultrasound equipment, is now equipped with the abdomen, small organs and peripheral vessels, ultrasound interventional, gynecological and obstetrics, musculoskeletal 5 professional groups, more than 30 items! In 2020, the department purchased a GE LOGIQ E9, which is the top ultrasound diagnostic equipment. This machine is equipped with advanced image processing software, elasticity imaging technology, ultrasonic imaging technology, etc., which lays the foundation for the department to develop new business.

     The Department of Ultrasound also undertakes the teaching and internship of undergraduate students of Shandong First Medical University, Binzhou Medical College, Qilu Medical College and the training of advanced trainees. Many doctors in the department undertake various social part-time jobs, and have a seat in various authoritative societies such as Ultrasound Branch of Shandong Medical Association, Ultrasound Branch of Shandong Physicians Association, Ultrasound Committee of Shandong Society of Integrative Medicine, Ultrasound Engineering Society of Shandong Province, Shandong Medical Imaging Research Society, etc. The department focuses on scientific research projects.

    The department focuses on scientific research, published nearly 100 papers in provincial and above publications, of which the first author or corresponding author of nearly 10 SCI papers, more than 10 papers in the national, provincial, local and municipal academic exchanges; books: editor-in-chief of 9, deputy editor-in-chief of 21; to obtain the provincial and municipal scientific and technological achievements of nearly 10, and obtain the national invention patents and utility model patents 6.

    The department also adopts the idea of ‘inviting in and sending out’ for talent cultivation, strengthens the communication and cooperation with domestic famous ultrasound experts, and gradually builds up the mode of high-end talent cultivation. In recent years, a number of doctors have been sent to the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Peking University People's Hospital, and Peking University Third Hospital for further training and study, which strengthens the exchange and cooperation with the top hospitals in China.

 

 

Ultrasound diagnosis and treatment items

Abdominal ultrasound: including abdomen (including liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidney); urinary system (kidney, ureter, bladder (prostate), residual urine); retroperitoneal masses and lymph nodes; thoracic and peritoneal effusions and their puncture and localisation; mesenteric lymph nodes; appendix area; intestinal condylomata; pylorus in infants and young children, etc, and gastro-intestinal ultrasonography.

Obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound: including gynaecology (including transabdominal and transcavitary examinations); obstetrics (screening of the three graded structures of the foetus and early pregnancy screening).

Peripheral vascular ultrasound: including upper and lower extremity arteries and veins; abdominal large vessels and their branches; renal arteries and veins and transplanted liver and kidney.

Interventional ultrasound: ultrasound-guided puncture biopsy of liver, kidney, spleen, thyroid, lymph nodes, etc.; ultrasound-guided percutaneous hepatic puncture of bile ducts, gallbladder tube drainage; ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrostomy; ultrasound-guided peritoneal abscess, perinephric abscess, hepatic abscess and other parts of the abscess tube drainage; ultrasound-guided anhydrous alcohol sclerotherapy of liver and kidney cysts; ultrasound-guided puncture of thoracic and abdominal fluid and other drainage. Ultrasound-guided drainage of thoracic and abdominal fluid, etc.

Musculoskeletal ultrasound: lesions of tendons, ligaments, bursae, peripheral nerves and other structures around the joints of the limbs, sensitive display of fluid in the joint cavity and synovial hyperplasia and other lesions, diagnosis of muscle injury, ultrasound-guided interventional treatments such as drug injections into the joint cavities of the limbs and peripheral nerve blocks.
