The first "China Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment Programme".
The mortality rate of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in China is at the forefront of the mortality rate of major diseases among urban and rural residents, and has shown a trend of rejuvenation and increase, with serious impacts and heavy burdens on patients, their families and society. The General Office of the National Health and Family Planning Commission issued the Circular on Enhancing the Medical Rescue and Treatment Capability of Acute Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases, proposing to shorten the time for early rescue and treatment, improve the success rate of acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease rescue and treatment, reduce the rate of death and disability, and effectively reduce the burden of disease through the establishment of a scientific regional coordinated medical rescue and treatment system for acute cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. In order to implement the relevant requirements of the government and effectively improve the current situation of acute myocardial infarction treatment in China, China Physicians Association organised the ‘China Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment Project’ in 15 provinces, municipalities directly under the central government and autonomous regions of China in 2015.
Our hospital is located in the intersection of Hebei, Luyu and Henan, with a large population, which is a high incidence of cardiovascular diseases and acute chest pain, and the hardest hit area, and we often see patients with chest pain who have missed the optimal time for treatment, or patients with chest pain for various reasons, and there are different degrees of delays in the treatment of chest pain. In order to further improve the treatment capacity of acute myocardial infarction and benefit the people in the area, our hospital joined the China Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment Programme.
Under the correct leadership and strong support of President Wang Guanghua, our hospital invited the person in charge of STEMI project in Shandong Province to give a focused lecture on 24th November, explaining in detail the research process as well as the data requirements of China Acute Myocardial Infarction Rescue Project. During the meeting, Vice President Liu Yuesen had a detailed communication with the project leader and put forward the next step of the work deployment in the light of the actual situation of our hospital. The emergency department, emergency department, cardiology department, catheterisation laboratory, laboratory and other departments of our hospital put forward constructive opinions on their own problems, and later on, under the coordination of Xiong Pan, director of the Chest Pain Office, the specific workflow and the data filing form suitable for our hospital were formulated. After many organised trainings, the China Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment Project was officially launched on 7 December 2015 and the first patient was successfully received by the Department of Cardiology I. The first patient was diagnosed by the Department of Cardiology I on the morning of 7 December.

The treatment of this case of myocardial infarction let us experience ‘time is myocardium, time is life’. How to save the surviving myocardium to the maximum extent is the basic requirement for our hospital to carry out the treatment programme. We believe that with the active cooperation of many departments, the Chest Pain Office will gradually improve the treatment capacity of acute myocardial infarction, promote the overall development of the rapid treatment of various emergencies and ultimately achieve the continuous improvement of the quality of our hospital's medical care, the overall improvement of our medical level, expand the influence of the hospital, and truly protect the people's health on the one hand. The hospital's influence will be expanded, and the health of the people will be truly protected.
