The first ward of Paediatric Internal Medicine was established in December 2007, with 39 fixed beds and 30 professional medical and nursing staff, including 1 chief physician, 1 deputy chief physician, 6 attending physicians, 6 supervisory nurses, and 2 postgraduates on duty. It has ventilator, multifunctional monitor, electrocardiograph, microglucometer, bilirubin dermatometer, microinfusion pump, ultrasonic nebuliser, thermostat, phototherapy instrument, upright tilt tester, microwave therapeutic instrument and so on. Head of the department Wang Deliang, head nurse Guo Yuyan.

The scope of diagnosis and treatment of Paediatrics I is as follows:

    Respiratory diseases: upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, pneumonia, bronchial asthma, etc.

    Diseases of digestive system: paediatric dyspepsia, various mouth sores, paediatric diarrhoea and dehydration, paediatric gastritis and peptic ulcer, infant hepatitis, intestinal parasitosis, etc.

    Diseases of cardiovascular system: arrhythmia, myocarditis, cardiomyopathy and so on.

    Diseases of haematological system: paediatric anaemia, haemolytic disease, thrombocytopenic purpura, acute leukaemia and so on.

    Urinary system diseases: hematuria, nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, urinary tract infection, paediatric enuresis and so on.

    Sixth, neurological diseases: paediatric convulsions, encephalitis, meningitis, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, hyperactivity disorder, paediatric syncope, neuritis, and so on.

    Seven, connective tissue disease: allergic purpura, rheumatic fever, rheumatoid disease in children, Kawasaki disease, immunodeficiency and so on.

    Eight, other: trace element deficiency, vitamin deficiency, malnutrition, obesity, hypokalemia, hypoglycemia, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, acute poisoning and so on.

   Nine, child health care: paediatric health examination, intelligence and motor development test, hearing, vision and speech test, central coordination disorders and cerebral palsy rehabilitation training guidance, paediatric nutrition and nursing advice and guidance.
