The Department of Neurosurgery of Liaocheng Second People's Hospital has been established for more than 30 years, and has developed into a key clinical department integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and health education. Long-term exchanges and cooperation with Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Beijing Xuanwu Hospital, Beijing 301 Hospital, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Shanghai Huashan Hospital, Tianjin Huanhu Hospital, Shandong Qilu Hospital, Shandong Provincial Hospital and many other hospitals, selecting and sending personnel to the U.S. Hopkins Hospital, the Japanese Tokushukai Kamakura Comprehensive Hospital to study.
The Second People's Hospital of Liaocheng City, as an advanced stroke centre, has reached the domestic advanced level in neurosurgical cerebrovascular diagnosis and treatment, including hemorrhagic cerebrovascular disease (intracranial aneurysm, cerebrovascular malformation, dural arteriovenous fistulae, and various kinds of cerebral hemorrhage, etc.), ischemic cerebrovascular disease (severe stenosis of the carotid artery, severe stenosis of the vertebral artery, severe stenosis or occlusion of the intracranial arteries, smog, etc.), and minimally invasive endovascular intervention for intracranial aneurysm. Minimally invasive endovascular intervention for intracranial aneurysm: embolisation/craniotomy, minimally invasive intervention for cerebrovascular malformation: embolisation/craniectomy, carotid endarterectomy, vertebral endarterectomy, intra- and extracranial artery bypass grafting, and composite surgery to open up the intra- and extracranial arterial occlusion are at the leading level in the surrounding counties and cities. Neurological tumours (glioma, pituitary tumour, meningioma, acoustic neuroma, etc.), functional neurosurgery (facial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, paediatric cerebral palsy, etc.), spine and spinal cord (intravertebral tumour, cervical spondylosis, lumbar spondylosis, spinal cavernosis, spinal fracture, etc.), severe cranio-cerebral trauma and other subspecialties are developing rapidly, and they have accumulated a wealth of clinical experience, which has reached the domestic advanced level.
